Christmas

We had a great Christmas! Back from Vegas just in time. We all got everything we wanted. It is the first time we have been home for Christmas in a long time. Pictures of Trey, and one of what Jodi thinks of Christmas pictures! She is just mad she hasn't got her box of cereal yet from her mom.

Dinner with Friends!

While in Vegas, we went to dinner with our friends the Reich's. Dean has been Rob's friend since High School, but we haven't got together in about four or five years. The kids have grown so much! It was great to see them!

Vegas again, thanks BSU!

Trey had a game on Tuesday night, and we left for Vegas right after the game. We stayed in Wells and then on to Vegas on Wednesday. We went to the game that night. We stayed at the Luxor, and for the first time in awhile, we stayed in the pyramid, not the towers. The next day we stopped by to see Kim's family. In honor of the Goon's kids love of the all day buffet, we took a picture of the signs!

Mother Nature Smiles on Bronco's

After raining and snowing all day long, the rain let up just before the kick-off of the Vegas Bowl. The traffic and parking was a disaster, Jodi had to walk across a mud puddle in high heels, but eventually, we found our seats and watched a good game.

Fall in Vegas!

Jodi and Rob spent the weekend in Vegas. You might call us this our annual fall sneak. Trey spent the night alone for the first time, and then Krissy and Brian came and picked him up for the BSU football game. Thanks to them, plus Grandpa too for giving him a ride back. I know you are all dying for a rundown. Our plane landed on Thursday night, and we went to dinner and a little gambling. Started real slow on the roulette table. Friday, Jodi and Rob went to the mall together and went to lunch with Kim, Tanner and Cynjin. It was great fun seeing them. That night, a bunch of us went to a comedian, Vinny Favorito. He was an insult comic, no joke, he spent on hour going around the room asking people what there name was and then insulting them! Sounds wierd, but he was actually good. Saturday, Rob went golfing during the day, and got back to the hotel in time to go see Frank Caliendo. He was ok, but Vinnie was better and cheaper. Sunday, we went to our favorite Japanese restaurant and flew home. We stayed at the Mandalay Bay this time. The pictures are sparse, but are of the view from our room on the 30th floor and Jodi. Sorry, too busy having fun to take pictures. I know most of our relatives are reluctant to go with us, but an open invitation to any readers of the blog: if you want to go to Vegas, count us in! Remember, it really not a vacation, just a weekend! Look us up and lets go!

For Trey!

Its been a long time since we posted, and we don't have many pictures. Those we have, we are having trouble uploading. We will work on it. Trey wanted to report he played in his first varsity football game! He played in two JV games and dressed for one of the two previous varsity games. He is mad because we did not take pictures of his big debut, but in our defense, we had no idea he would play! (Frankly niether did he, it was a surprise to everyone) He said we missed pictures of his "pancake" blocks he allegedly made. We did not see them, but he swears coach will see them when he looks at the tape. For now, we will have to take his word for it. You can read about the 3-0 Shoshone Indians and their spunky freshman offensive and defensive lineman here: http://magicvalley.com/sports/high-school/article_e486e38d-b277-5c51-ad06-974cb37f6d77.html Sadly, the paper did not notice the "pancake" blocks either :(

Story time

About 20 years ago, Rob and his friend Clint woke up one morning and decided to drive to Seattle. They were poor college students with spare time in the summer. They were at Clints apartment in Portland. He had lived there for months and it had literally no furniture, not even a bed. They saw Nolan Ryan was pitching against the Mariners and decided to drive on up to see him. Here is the approximate budget for the trip. Bleacher seats in the top level of the Kingdome looking down on home plate, $2 a piece. Kingdog $2. (Ok, maybe two kingdogs) Gas, maybe $10. They drove back after the game and solved lifes problems. Of course, life was much simplier when everything you own goes in the back of your car. The whole trip was less than $20. This weekend, our family kind of at the last moment decided to do the same thing. We got up and said lets go to a game. It was great, and with all due repect to Clint, we had fun as just a family. The parking alone cost $25. We sat in the "club" seats behind home plate next to the press box. The food choices are much better and they have waiters come to your seat. If you get tired of your seats, you can go sit at tables to eat, or in big comfy chairs. Its much better than Kingdome. We forgot camera, but have a phone picture. Jodi kept asking how far we were from where the "vampires" are from, but eventually got into the game.

We have been doing some neat things lately, just keep forgetting the camera. Trey has started and finished basketball in Shoshone. He also went to football camp at Idaho St. with his new team. He did not want to go, but had fun. We have been looking for a house, and have found one we like, we just need to negoiate on it. We spend a weekend in Sun Valley, with Trey playing basketball literally all weekend. We did learn about our new area. Jodi and Rob went to Wallowa Lake for a day trip with Ron and Gwen. Gwen took some pictures, she will need to post them. It rained, so we just drove up and came back. We kind of have a month off with basketball over. Don't know what we will do, but we will try to remember the camera. We are getting pretty excited to move and get settled. These are the only pictures we have. So, enjoy.

More Arizona Details

When you go to Arizona, and you should, to watch baseball games each park has a different atmosphere. Some are like a bar, no one watches the game and its really just a party. Some are more family orientated. This time, we went to the Angels and the Mariners. The Angels is more of the party atmosphere and the traffic was terrible. The Mariners were a great family night. I would also recommend going at night. The Arizona nights this time of year are great, 80 degrees. Spring training you are so close, we sat three rows in and right by the field all for less than $20 a ticket. Already planning for next year!

Arizona!

Rob and Trey went on a father son trip to Arizona. They left on Wednesday and returned on Sunday. They did spend a couple of nights at Dave's house to watch the NCAA tourney, Trey is in love with his High Def TV. They went to two baseball games and one basketball game; the Suns vs. Knicks. They also went shopping one day. Dave tried to convince them to try his local burger joint and its butter fried burger, but they held out. I think they had fun, but I am glad they are back!

Long time

We know it has been a long time since a post. We have been busy with basketball every weekend! We might have some time to post this week. Rob and Trey are off to Arizona this week, so might have to catch up so we can post some pictures from the trip. Here are some pictures of our last basketball tourney. It was in Spokane, WA. So, we have action shots, plus some pictures from a visit to Gonzaga. Those catholics sure know how to build buildings! I love the old churches on campus.

Good times!

One of the new years resolutions we have is to attempt to connect more with family and friends. We have already tried to invite more people on trips and call old friends. We know it is hard with people busy, but its a goal. So if anyone wants to do something, don't be shy, look us up! Here are some pictures of good times!

Busy with Basketball

We are right in the middle of our busy basketball season. Trey plays school basketball which is during November and December. They play teams similar size to Echo. They won all of the games they played during the regular season and almost all of them were not close. After a couple of weeks off, they start AAU. During AAU they play bigger schools and they travel more. We are at tourneys most everyweekend. Its a lot of time spent on the road, but we will probably miss it when its over. This past weekend it started with a tourney in Pendleton. They went 2-2 but made the winners bracket. They beat Clarkston and Hermiston, but lost to Pendleton and EKU (all star team) Pretty good for our small town kids.

More Phoenix

One day we went to visit Arizona St. University campus. It is a huge campus and has many shops and restaurants. We, of course, visited the sports facilities. We ate lunch, did some shopping, and Jodi, Trey and Brian hiked up to the "A" above campus.

Fiesta Bowl

We are back from Phoenix:( Our activities included a Suns game, a day spent shopping at a mall or two, the Fiesta Bowl of course, and on the day we flew out a movie. In addition to that, we spent some time hiking. One day, we spent the day with Rob's friend from HS, Dave and his family. They live in Phoenix. The boys played Pinocle and the girls went for a hike. We also had dinner and snacks and upon night fall moved out to the patio for cards and visiting. It was great fun. Wayne, Brian and Ron went with us. We hope they had fun. It was great to spend time with friends and family in a wonderful area. The friends and family were great. We need to travel more with them, if they are willing. And of course, Boise won! We will be back!
